No More Hesitation: A Madonna Primer
You know who Madonna is, but have you really given her music a fair listen? If you look past her celebrity or the media’s portrayals of this woman, you’ll see a fearless ball-buster that has an admirable grasp on her career. Whether or not you are fond of her, there is no doubt in my mind that Madonna’s music is accessible to everyone - it doesn’t matter if you’re a pop aficionado or an indie enthusiast. If you give her music a fair chance, you will discover how this iconic entertainer has evolved through her years and how she has helped shape pop as a genre. Say whatever you want about Madonna, but don’t say that she hasn’t had an impact or that she isn’t spirited and hardworking. I can only hope that I’m as lively and successful as she is when I’m 52 but that’s impossible - she has achieved what no one else can and her legacy will never be forgotten. Long live the one and only Queen of Pop.

Tip: You should also look at some of her music videos, if you haven’t already. They’ve caused quite a stir and have a huge role in her career. Bad Girl, Justify My Love (nsfw), and Like A Prayer are great ones, although there are many others that are just as good!
Nothing to Fear, Nothing to Doubt: A Radiohead Primer
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Radiohead? If you have not heard about the band already, you’ve been living under a rock. With only a few hit songs - Creep, Paranoid Android, High and Dry - the band has gained significant levels of popularity, but those hits do not properly capture Radiohead’s essence for one reason: Radiohead is not a band that can be confined to one genre. Pablo Honey had grungy pop rock, The Bends and OK Computer are more alternative, while things just get weird with electronic Kid A and Amnesiac. From then on, Radiohead have only continued to evolve their sound and remain as the darlings of music critics and hardcore fans alike. People may say that you either “get” Radiohead or you don’t, but that is a lie. With a substantial discography and the band’s willfulness to explore different ground, I’d like to think that Radiohead have something for everyone.
